Provided are some additional samples of work I have completed during my time as a student. Some projects were completed in collaboration with others, and for these I have listed my personal contribution.
gear train stress analysis
This project involved design of a simple gear train system for a small turbine. All mathematical analyses were performed in Mathcad and include stress analysis for shafts and gears, selection of bearings, and fatigue life. Both the report and Mathcad worksheet are included.
2d transient thermal analysis
This project, completed in collaboration with two other individuals, called for the use of Matlab to create a program to analyze 2D transient conduction of a rectangular solid with external convection coefficient. The purpose of this exercise was to illustrate the fundamentals of thermal finite element analysis and the associated programming conventions. The report below includes a description of the project and figures illustrating the results. My responsibilities included writing the Matlab code, assembling the figures, and writing the report (except for the conclusion).
3d modeling and drafting - wine corker
For my final project in LSU's CM 1020, I assembled this set of solid models and drawings for a hand-operated wine corker. All modeling was performed in Solidworks and was based on actual wine corker designs.
Literary analysis - Propertius I.16
This report was composed for a class in Roman Elegiac Poetry which I took at Notre Dame in the Spring of 2007. My focus was on Propertius' interpretation of the paraclausithyron theme and involved extensive research into publications that analyzed both this particular poem and similar works by other authors.
